Our impact for 2020
Environmental Impact
Although ARK run’s in an old victorian building, we want to be considerate of our environmental impact - we care about the footprint us and our members. We have worked with our Landlord and the Zero Emissions Network to drive Energy efficiency improvements and Waste reduction programs in our building.
Energy usage
We monitor and record our energy usage; energy use is produced from low-impact renewable sources - we use Bulb as our energy provider, with the breakdown by renewable sources as follows;
Greenhouse Gases
Our electricity is 100% renewable, and our gas is 100% carbon neutral (10% green gas, 90% offset).
Facility energy efficiency
When purchasing equipment, we strive to purchase Energy Star Appliances / equipment with Automatic Sleep Modes / After-Hour Timers / etc…
Waste disposal
We recycle paper, cardboard and plastic, and compost where we can with Islington Council. In the past 12 months we estimate we produced around 3,000kg of waste.
Water usage
Thames Water provide our water, in the past 12 months we estimate we used approx. 280m3 of water.

Supported charity
Bankuet is a charity with the vision for no one in the UK to go hungry. They enable giving to food banks online, so food banks can get what they need when they need it, rather than a surplus of some supplies and not enough of another. Throughout the pandemic they supported food banks in London that had a large increase of users due to the impact of COVID on health and jobs. Find out about the work they’re doing.
