Solar Panels at ARK

In Summer 2023, we installed 52 solar panels on our roof, generating up to 20.80kWp.

Our aim is to reduce our energy usage by 50% through the generation of solar energy, equivalent to saving 3.1 tCO2e per year through avoided use of grid electricity. Financially, this will save an estimated £5,335 / yr in energy costs, which will help ARK to remain a genuinely affordable coworking space for local residents at a time where living costs are on the increase. The installation of solar panels, and involvement from our members and local community, will help us to be achieve this target in line with our broader objective of becoming net zero by 2030.

We hope to support and inspire our local community towards exploring their own sustainable energy projects, and ways that they might be able to reduce their environmental footprint.
