Environmental Impact
We want to be considerate of our environmental impact - we care about the footprint that we leave behind and want to minimise this where possible. We have worked with our Landlord and the Zero Emissions Network to drive Energy efficiency improvements and Waste reduction programs in our building.
Our environmental impact is measured from October 2023 – October 2024.
Energy Usage
We monitor and record our energy usage. For half of this time period British Gas was our energy provider, then we swapped to Octopus, a green energy provider that sources energy from renewable resources. Our electricity is now generated from 100% renewable sources, primarily from wind, solar and hydro. You can read more at octopus.energy.
Our building runs off electricity only. In 2023 we installed solar panels on our roof, read more here.

Water usage
Castle Water provide our water, in the past 12 months we estimate we used approx 149m3 of water in this time period, less than last year’s consumption of 240m3. We saved the equivalent of 30 red telephone boxes of water from the year before!
Facility energy efficiency
When purchasing equipment, we strive to purchase Energy Star Appliances / equipment with Automatic Sleep Modes / After-Hour Timers / etc.
We have smart heaters installed and use smart plugs to manage turning off electrical equipment.
Waste disposal
We recycle paper, cardboard and plastic with Islington Council. In the past 12 months we estimate we produced 2,250kg of general waste (sent to landfill) and 1,350kg of recycled waste.
